So today a kid gave me a high five as I passed him on my daily run. That was unepectedy cool. I hope he was going for a high five and not just yawning, cos otherwise I've just slapped a minor.

I never fully realised the difference between a holiday with a friend versus one with the family until now. Lugging the suitcases up and down that neverending set of metro steps suddenly seems infinitely more difficult when you throw arthritis and back pain into the mix. Chesna came and brought the rain with her. For once, it was welcome- in that way that warm drops dripping over your skin can be. So it's not rain that I hate, its the ice cold excuse for it that we get in Perth during winter. Went to a remote clinic in Kalumburu. Just an hour long flight on an even tinier Cessna, but today we were headed north west. It's a small Aboriginal community founded by Spanish missionaries, and a GP visits the clinic there every Tuesday. Going to canoe and camp our way down the Ord River over the next two days awww yeahhhhhh. Guy (complete with mullet) assured us that there are no saltwater crocs in the river \o/, only fresh water (aaaah). But apparantly they are scared by everything, so hopefully they'll take one look at us and run for it. SO EXCITED OMG. Back to Lake Argyle :D :D ( Read more... )
